Sustainable Sourcing

We take pride in our commitment to responsible sourcing. In 2023, 79% of our cotton was sourced as Better Cotton, and we are on track to achieve 100% Better Cotton sourcing by 2025. Better Cotton is acquired through a mass balance system, ensuring that while it may not be physically traceable in the final product, cotton farmers still benefit from the increased demand.

Our sustainability strategy aligns with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a set of 17 objectives aimed at creating a more sustainable and equitable world. These goals guide our efforts in responsible sourcing, ethical production, and reducing environmental impact.

 

Key Sustainability Facts

Better Cotton now accounts for 20% of global cotton production. Among the 2.9 million participating farmers, more than 2.2 million across 26 countries received a Better Cotton license and produced 4.7 million tonnes of Better Cotton. In 2019, Better Cotton Retailer and Brand Members sourced 1.5 million metric tonnes of cotton as Better Cotton, representing 6% of global cotton production.
